Renaud Perriches
Interior Desire

NuN is pleased to invite Renaud Perriches for his first solo exhibition in Berlin. Perriches’s field of interest covers industrial aesthetics, Modernist architecture, and structural engineering. In his sculptures, he borrows shapes and patterns from the urban landscape, and offers to reconsider their functional meaning through new symbolic approach.
Of his installation "Interior Desire", Perriches states: "Making an exhibition about the violence of the object, the irresistible attraction that they exert on us and the hidden meaning they contain. It's like making forms for insider, inviting them to discover an invisible reality. With the Brutalist architectural movement in mind, I'm using shapes in my sculptures that cannot be used in architecture anymore. And even if it is just as damaging, it no longer represents an obstacle to social living."

Renaud Perriches (born 1982) is a French artist living in Paris. He graduated at the National School of Art in Paris and since his works have been shown at Institut Français of Berlin, CNEAI Paris, ENSBA Rennes, and the Art Council of Perth, Australia. He is one of the initiator and director of -1, space for contemporary art in Paris, which opened in 2011 (
